About OUR TOURS

What's included

3 or 6 overnight accommodation in carefully selected mountain lodges, middle - top class hotels

Breakfast, dinner at the accommodation and snacks on the trail

Carefully selected tracks that can be covered by beginner off road riders and that can be fun for intermediary, more advanced riders as well

Approximate length of the track 500 km the short tour, 1000 km the long tour (~65 % offroad)

Selected waypoints at the most iconic places in the Carpathian Mountains

English speaking tour guide throughout the tour

Our guides speak a bit also Hungarian, German, Italian

Tips and tricks for beginner adventure / offroad riders

Lunch during the ride, since we ride in remote areas, it is possible that we don’t pass by a good restaurant during the day.
That is why we included snacks.

Need to know!

Perfect for riders of all levels—from seasoned adventurers to those seeking their first taste of off-road riding.

However, riders should be prepared to get a bit dirty, especially if a rainy period is foreseen.

Slight variations in the track can be made during the ride to match the difficulty level with the groups riding skill.

Motorcycles need to be registered and insured for riding on public roads.

Riders need to have a driving license valid for motorcycles.

Tour Requirements

Recommended motorcycles:

Dual sport, light & middleweight adventure motorcycles
eg. KTM 390/790/890 Adventure, 690 Enduro; Suzuki V-Strom, Dr / Drz series; BMW F600-900GS series; Yamaha XT, Tenere, TT series; Honda Transalp, CRF, XR series; Kawasaki KLE, KLR series

Fuel capacity for ~200 km, if your motorcycles range is less try to bring additional fuel (2 - 4L)

Big adventure bikes can participate as well if the rider is confident in it’s offroad skill (BMW R1200 series, Yamaha SuperTenere, KTM Super Adventure, etc.)

Recommended tyres:

At least 50% off road tires are needed (eg. Mitas E07, Heidenau K60 Scout, etc)

More off road oriented tyres are welcome (eg. Mitas E09, Michelin Anake Wild, etc.)

If you are running a tubed wheel, bring a spare tube along!

Recommended luggage:

Soft / textile side bags, tail bag or tank bag.

Small backpack for short hikes, visits

We don’t recommend bringing along top case or hard side cases.

Estimate the needed amount of carry capacity for a few days of riding (3-4 days for short tour, 7 days for the long tour)

Try to pack as light as possible for a better tour experience.

All accommodations provide the needed essentials.

Other gear recommendations:

Raining gear

Spare tube if you are not running on tubeless wheels

Any special tool that might be needed by your motorcycle to remove the wheel in case of a flat

We highly recommend personal insurance

Tour PLAN

Day 0 (Thursday afternoon)

Meetup in Cluj Napoca on Thursday afternoon at 16:00 PM

If you bring your motorbike on a trailer until here, let us know in advance so that we can arrange a suitable parking of your car and trailer during the tour.

Fuel top up and short briefing of the upcoming ride

Ride from Cluj to the foothills of the Apuseni Mountains with stopping at a few landmarks along the route

Depending on the group we can take offroad trails of higher or lower difficulty

Approximate ride length 70 - 100 km with about 40% offroad

Optional short hike to a beautiful medieval castle in the area

Dinner

Day 1 (Friday)

Breakfast

Short briefing of the upcoming ride

Ride through the eastern part of the Apuseni Mountains while visiting one of the highest peaks in the area, unesco world heritage villages, and defected gold mines.

Approximate ride length 160 km with about 70% offroad.

Optional short hike to a protected peat bog ecosystem.

Optional visit to the Gold Mining museum of Rosia Montana.

Dinner

Day 2 (Saturday)

Short briefing of the upcoming ride

Ride through the southern part of the Apuseni Mountains while visiting it highest peak (vf. Bihorul)

Approximate ride length 110 km with about 80% offroad.

Optional visit to the underground glacier cave Scarisoara (depending on the time available)

Dinner

Day 3 (Sunday)

Breakfast

Short briefing of the upcoming ride

Ride in the heart of the Apuseni Mountains while visiting some of the most remote and isolated villages

Optional hike in the area (Valul Miresei waterfall)

Optional visit to the Bears Cave (depending on available time)

Arrival in Cluj Napoca where we say goodbye

Approximate ride length 180 km with about 60% offroad

Price and payment

The price per one rider is 500 Euro and contains everything mentioned in What’s Included.

Payment in advance of 30% of the tour cost is required to reserve your spot.

The remaining 70% should be paid up to 2 weeks before the tour.

Free cancellation up to 2 weeks before the tour.

For cancellations made after this period, the advance payment (30% of the total cost) will be retained.
