 Apuseni Motorcycle Tour

Our short tour will cover the most iconic places from the Apuseni mountains:
  • Tallest mountain peaks in the area: Muntele Mare, Curcubata Mare, Muntele Gaina
  • Iconic willages like Rimeate, Rosia Montana
  • Old castles
  • The short tour is ideal for you if you are on a tight schedule or your jub does no allow too many days off
  • Also here you can have a glimpse of what it means to travel a few days offroad without commiting yourself to a whole week experience.
    • The short tour offers two options:
  • a easy route on paved and light unpaved roads, more suitable for beginners offroad riders
  • a more challenging route focusing on off-road tracks, more suitable for experienced offroad riders
    • Please note that the challenging route can be difficult if:
  • you lack prior off-road experience
  • ride a heavy motorcycle
  • do not have at least 50%-50% road-off-road tires.
    • We will agree in advance on which route to take, based on the groups skill level.

    Tour PLAN

     Day 0 - Thursday afternoon

  • Meetup in Cluj Napoca on Thursday afternoon at 16:00 PM
  • If you bring your motorbike on a trailer until here, let us know in advance so that we can arrange a suitable parking of your car and trailer during the tour.
  • Fuel top up and short briefing of the upcoming ride
  • Ride from Cluj to the foothills of the Apuseni Mountains with stopping at a few landmarks along the route
  • Depending on the group we can take offroad trails of higher or lower difficulty
  • Approximate ride length 70 - 100 km with about 40% offroad
  • Optional short hike to a beautiful medieval castle in the area
  • Dinner

    •  Day 1 - Friday

  • Breakfast
  • Short briefing of the upcoming ride
  • Ride through the eastern part of the Apuseni Mountains while visiting one of the highest peaks in the area, unesco world heritage villages, and defected gold mines.
  • Visit the submerged village of Geamăna, where you can witness the striking, vibrant colors resulting from mining activities.
  • Approximate ride length 160 km with about 70% offroad.
  • Optional short hike to a protected peat bog ecosystem.
  • Optional visit to the Gold Mining museum of Rosia Montana.
  • Dinner

    •  Day 2 - Saturday

  • Breakfast
  • Short briefing of the upcoming ride
  • Ride through the southern part of the Apuseni Mountains while visiting it highest peak (vf. Bihorul)
  • Approximate ride length 110 km with about 80% offroad.
  • Optional visit to the underground glacier cave Scarisoara (depending on the time available)
  • Dinner

    •  Day 3 - Sunday

  • Breakfast
  • Short briefing of the upcoming ride
  • Ride in the heart of the Apuseni Mountains while visiting some of the most remote and isolated villages
  • Optional hike in the area (Valul Miresei waterfall)
  • Optional visit to the Bears Cave (depending on available time)
  • Arrival in Cluj Napoca where we say goodbye
  • Approximate ride length 180 km with about 60% offroad

     Price and payment

  • The price per one rider is 350 Euro and contains everything mentioned in What’s Included (accommodation, breakfast, dinner).
  • Payment in advance of 30% of the tour cost is required to reserve your spot.
  • The remaining 70% should be paid up to 2 weeks before the tour.
  • Free cancellation up to 2 weeks before the tour. 
  • For cancellations made after this period, the advance payment (30% of the total cost) will be retained.

    •   Group Limit  

  • 3 riders minimum
  • Preferably 6 riders maximum
  • If the minimum number of participants is not reached up to 2 weeks before the tour, we will fully refund you.
